It’s easy to see where the inspiration for our flip flop comes from- but the story of how it came to be is a little more interesting. The concept came late at night, in China of all places. I had just had another perfect weekend on Cape Cod - and had to rush back to New York, jump on a plane, and be off again on another business trip. I reached into my bag and pulled out a sailor’s knot bracelet; a stowaway from the weekend.
As I sat there exhausted, with this piece of Cape Cod in my hand, I thought about the bracelet and what it means, what it really is: It’s vacation. It’s adventures and silliness. It’s sailing and swimming and getting dirty and having fun. It’s barbeques and clambakes and friends and cousins. It’s popped collars, boat shoes, and too much seersucker. It’s our childhood. It’s the beach. It’s summer.
Cape Cod Shoe Supply is about uncomplicated styling with a youthful spirit. We’ve started with a simple flip flop- putting thought and detail into every component of the design.
